Trump Announces One-Time $90 Payment for Over 20 Million Medicare Seniors

by admin477351

President Donald Trump has announced a one-time payment of $90 for over 20 million seniors enrolled in Medicare to assist with their premiums. The payments, expected to be distributed in October, will be made via direct deposit or check, according to the White House.

This financial aid will be drawn from the Medicare Improvement Fund, which is dedicated to enhancing Medicare operations and payments to healthcare providers. Eligibility for the payment is limited to Medicare Part B beneficiaries residing in the United States. However, seniors currently receiving premium assistance through Medicaid or those paying income-adjusted premiums are not eligible for this one-time payment.

Additionally, individuals enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans are excluded from receiving the payment. Medicare Part B typically covers services such as visits to doctors, ambulance services, and laboratory tests, with premiums varying based on income levels.

The announcement comes as part of Trump’s efforts to address healthcare and affordability issues, just ahead of the November 3 midterm elections. This move is seen as an attempt to highlight measures aimed at assisting seniors and addressing their financial concerns related to healthcare.
